“Before, I thought the moon was for me, shining its moonlight and following me everywhere I go.”
Just like the girl on the bus, who’s my classmate. She was the only girl who would talk to me and help me with my studies in every way possible, reminding me and updating me on what was happening in class, since she was the class monitor. I thought she only did this because she was a monitor and a kind person. But in everything she did, a good deed, it gave a hit of feeling that was so different from any feeling I had. I sense that she kept a spotlight on me, which made me comfortable and allowed me to express myself. As I was the most introverted person in the world, bad at studies, and didn’t know how to play any sport, “I’m such a loser” was what I thought of myself.
But forgetting about that, I personally hate crises & war and wanted to solve this, make peace, and also care about others. I thought of various resolutions for this problem, but the reality hit: I couldn’t even solve my own problem or tell her (Jill, how could I solve such huge problems?).
As I was walking back home from school, I thought about fictional characters making the world a better place and especially being one.
I saw a mysterious pocket watch hanging on a tree branch; it was futuristic, with an ancient covering and feeling. I took it home, and at dinner time I played with it; then I pressed a button, and out of nowhere, a clock-like figure appeared, with limbs and a huge face on a clock. It introduced itself as the Godfather, which is technically an AI assistant guiding him.
Where the godfather said that the pocket watch is not really what it is but a time-travelling technology that takes the user in a time zone where you can manipulate time.

But it comes with a cost; it causes disturbances to the timeline.
After playing with the watch for a few days, he used it to prevent historical events that caused another timeline, and Johan didn’t realise what he had done.
“When I prevented Hitler from becoming the dictator by making the elections rigged, I thought of hacking the technology, as the technology they used was ancient.
Saving JFK from assassination and also helping extinct animals from extinction, for example, the dodo, a flightless bird, and the woolly mammoth.”
As I ignored all the cool parts happening in my life, I noticed that Jill was absent for a week. investigated this, and I learned that she was facing severe cancer, and there is no solution yet.
So, I decided to sacrifice my time for her; I went into time zone research, investigating, planning, experiments,s and failed & failed for centuries and centuries, but couldn’t find it yet.
Then, in the 100th century, I found a solution that would not just cure her cancer but any type of life-threatening disease or anything related to the human body.
I didn’t age a bit in the time zone, so I went back to my original timeline and came up to her. Where she was lying like an angel from heaven, sleeping. I secretly made her drink the solution and went to a distance where I could still see her, without her noticing.
After some time, I could see the doctors were in shock at her being cured, and they were all rejoicing.
Part 3
Jill went back to school as always, as nothing had happened and I was so nonchalant after everything I did. Every day I would peek and take a glance at he, as I was glad to make it possible to see her again. And strangely, she had this one habit every time I went home before leaving the bus, which showed care towards me, ever for someone, where she would say, “I’ll see you.”
But then, as I thought everything would be fine, a new transfer student came, whom Jill had this first-sight love, I think that’s what it’s called, and she had a big crush on him. He was tall, majestic, nonchalant, athletic, smart, and handsome. Which sadly broke my heart, but I took it positively, if I’m not wrong: “She deserves someone great, not me.” So I moved on with my normal life and avoided her or anything that reminded me of her, so I stopped using the pocket watch too, as it especially reminded me.
In the middle of the night, my ears were full of the words, “I’ll see you, I’ll see you”; it kept ringing.
Then, out of the blue, Godfather came with an alert that there’s a huge problem in the time zone and the time branches are collapsing, and I need to take responsibility to solve this.
“The time zone is a zone where you’re out of time and could manipulate and see time in a huge bunch of time going endlessly, and you could touch the string and go back to reality in the timeline you chose to be in. But what I did going into the timeline caused another timeline to grow, which caused the shift of the timeline from the other line bending to the timeline or ending it. So in the time zone, there were timelines getting to the end and not in the main line to make it exist. There were uncountable timelines getting out of hand.
So I took responsibility to fix this by going to every timeline and fixing it all by myself, as I know what’s going to happen, which is my power to do it through the pocket watch. So this was my responsibility, and for this I will be in an endless loop to solve this, as time doesn’t affect me.
But in my head, regret was biting, wishing to see her again, or would it be possible to see her again?
I used the pocket watch and went into the time zone, and then I realised that the problem was infinitely huge and too big to solve. I’ll be in an endless loop and couldn’t go back to reality to see her again.
“But I realised that the moon wasn’t meant for me but was just there in the sky, belonging to no one and shining for itself.”
